CONTAMINATED SOIL EXCAVATION
NOAA, St. George Island, Alaska
ChemTrack supplied management, supervision (ADEC Qualified Person) and mechanics for the removal and disposal of an estimated 13,500 CY of petroleum-contaminated soil (PCS) from three (3) contaminated sites on St. George Island and restoration of the affected sites. The excavation was guided by PID and confirmational lab samples. The contaminated soil was used as cover material for the local landfill. The areas were backfilled with Red Scoria fill.
Government furnished equipment was rented from the City, Tribal Council, and the local Native Corp. of St. George Island. The environmental workforce (equipment operators, laborers, truck drivers, and flaggers) were hired from the local community.
