CIVIL SERVICES – CAPPING CONTAMINATED SOIL

ChemTrack used a local subcontractor from Dutch Harbor who supplied the equipment and labor to place 465 CY of cover material on the deck of a barge using three 12 CY dump trucks.  A loader on the barge reshaped the material onto one section of the barge and the equipment was placed on the remaining deck space.  A tug transported the material and equipment on the barge to Akutan.  The material was offloaded and placed as a 2 FT cap on existing contaminated soil.  After grading, the area was seeded and fertilized.
